Trevor's mini-stack
"I've attached a photo of my fully completed N5X amplifier. I built the cabinet from pine furniture board using finger joints. (After making a jointing jig.) I had intended leaving it bare wood, but my woodworking is not as good as I thought it was! The covering is Marshall red elephant tolex.

"The logo is hand cut from 2mm modellers plasticard. Starlight was my nick name at school and I wanted a lightweight amplifier as I can no longer hump heavy gear about, hence Starlite.

"The speaker is a Celestion G12H 30th Anniversary model in a closed back cab. I opted for a separate speaker cab in preparation for my next project (Double Six?)……

"Now I’ve been playing it for a while I’m amazed by the tone and responsiveness, how you can go from clean to crunch just by digging in with the pick."

Craig's N5X head cabinet
Craig's opted for a bent grille over the front, top and back of his N5X - a good option if you want to keep the valves on show.

Rhys N5X combo

"I've attached a couple of photos of the finished amp. AF Custom Cabs is an hour down the road from me and Mark built me a solid pine 18-watt style cab for a very reasonable price. The craftsmanship is head and shoulders above any amp I've owned. I have a Greenback in it for the classic Marshall sound. I'm currently running an EL84 but I have an EL34 I want to try after I’ve read up a bit more about cathode biasing single ended class A valves.

"I was interested in trying an amp with voltage scaling, but I’ve found that I tend to leave it at 10 and just get my sound from the master and gain. The EQ switches are very useful though. Very satisfying and enjoyable project overall, glad I finally got round to buying one of your kits."

Brad's N5X mini-stack

"I have been meaning to send you some pics of the totally finished N5X - I ended up using a Celestion G12H speaker in the cab with a 1/4 closed back. Made everything myself. It sounds bloody fantastic!!!!

Mark's N5X stack

"The cab has a 12-inch Celestion blue and is sitting under the N5X at the moment. A good match for both amps. (Mark also built a WF-55.)"

Mark's N5X combo
"I've made a 1x12 cab for my N5X to complete a combo that I could use live. It's a lively open-back design made from pine with cream and green covering. Had a very pleasant Sunday putting it together. Still waiting for a logo or badge for the front. I put a 20W Celestion G12M Greenback in and it sounds just right. Perfect tone with a Telecaster."

Matt's Brown and white N5X mini-stack
"I finally have some pictures of the N5X I built earlier this year. It was a challenge, and there were numerous occasions of swearing at fiddly bits. But I love the sound this thing makes, it takes pedals very well and for home jamming it is a perfect amp."

Greg's lovely N5X cabinet
Some lovely dovetail jointing and a unique 'propellor' style ventilation cut-out on Greg's N5X. Woodwork comes easier for Greg than me, and he makes cigar-box guitars, too. More info here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgxVDul...Gog/videos

Vincent's N5X in cherry
"My father in law is a master carpenter, so I have access to tons of wood and tools if I wish. However, for this cabinet, I used only off-cuts of cherry wood. I also used two layers of mahogany colour, since the off-cuts' colouring were not all uniform. After that, three layers of transparent coatings. Now, I have to create a speaker cabinet..."
