Chris' figured wood head cabinet
"I completed my PP-18 and wanted to thank you for putting out such a great product. Your instructions are the best around, so that even a complete novice like me can complete a build and have it work perfectly right off the bat!

"Here's a short YouTube clip demoing it, not great playing, but great sounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slnIeyWrkDs

"Finally got the cabinet for my PP-18 amp built. Curly cherry with birdseye maple front and a curly maple handle."

Paul's PP-18 with mods
"It took me ages but finally I put some pics of the amp together! I built a PP-18 which I converted to an SL-18. The kit was not available at that time, then I just bought the components myself as you can check from the pictures.

"It is just astonishing. I use it at home, in studio, and also live. It works great with pedals too. It is SO loud. Then, I was thinking to include the VVR mod."

Antti's PP-18 head
"That "Handle" cab is made from materials found at home. It is 'quick' and 'temporary' and very simple. That handle was bought for one old man to his shower -room, but colour was wrong...

"I added 100 ohm/5W sag resistor with bypass-switch and I have to say that I cannot hear the difference yet with bedroom volumes. I have planned to change that 100 ohm resistor to 220 ohm next summer and if that is not enough, experiment ... I am not very hurry with this "sag" thing."

Chris' P1800 head cabinet
"All has gone really well with the amp build as you will see from the
attached pictures. Thank you it is obvious that you have put a lot of
thought and energy in to producing a fine kit.

"Studio session on Saturday went really well with the amp. Only problem I had was the studio engineer/producer, he now want's one, he loved it and spent about 1/4hour running it through its paces! He is a much better guitarist than me. He has taken loads of pictures of mine and plans to post them on Instagram and the like! I can't have done a too shabby job.

Christian's PP-18 head
"Here are some preliminary pictures of my PP-18. Thank you again for offering such a nice and well documented kit.

"The tolex is ivory, however I changed my mind on the grill cloth for 'Marshall cane style' basket weave. I did the woodwork on the headsell myself, as well as the tolex, piping and front grill. The head is 18mm birch ply, connected with dowels - I’m very proud that this turned out to be good. I annoyed the guys at my university workshop until they milled me the front plate :-).The piping is far from being perfect and also the tolex on the headshell could be better, but it has been my first try.

"The cabinet is a 1x12 and comes from Tube-Town, an online shop for speakers, cabs and all kinds of guitar stuff. Dirk, the shop-owner is also a very nice guy, and knows how to build good guitar and bass cabs. The speaker is WGS Invader (50W Greenback replacement) and is a BLAST - I can’t wait to try it with my band…

"I’m going to get a laser cut logo and cream chickenhead knobs (should have order the kit with them, but at that time, I wasn’t sure what color the tolex would be)."

David's PP-18 head
"Just a little picture of my finished amp. I had the cabinet made by Chris, it is in Elephant Blue tolex. Very pleased with the sound and look of the project."

Davy's mini-stack

"Just sending you a couple of pictures of my finished PP-18 amp.
My cab is made out of plywood and I put a Celestion Vintage 30
speaker in it. The amp sound great!!!"

James well-blogged PP-18
"I finished the PP-18 a couple of months ago but have tweaked it a bit since then. I started a blog just the other day, giving some of the details. Feel free to include it on your site if you like – it might be helpful to others and I am more than happy to share info: http://pp18amp.blogspot.com/

"There are several pics as well. I intend to get some sound clips recorded soon as well. There is a huge variety of sounds available when you multiply together 5 positions of the Strat pickups, 2 channels on the Amp, various levels of crunch depending on the volume control, plus variations using the tone control. I am seriously impressed with this amp!

"All the best from a very wet Isle of Mull!"

Rob's PP-18 head cabinet
"Just wanted to say you deserve every success. Your kit was excellent to make and you were a fantastic support throughout! My son enjoys playing through the amp - but occasionally, I have to plug back in myself because it sounds so good!

"Oh and forget tolex, this one recycles the covering from a leather sofa that the next door neighbour threw out!"

Neil's reborn combo
"Well that was a piece of cake and I've never done anything like this before. The best I've done previously is to make some cross over components for speakers. Your plans are excellent. Well laid out and containing all I needed to do the job.

"I have done a "stealth" install into a chassis where the solid state components had seen far better days. I also ripped out the speaker and replaced it with a 12" Eminence Lil' Texas. The amp now weighs 5kgs LESS than it did!

"Feedback? I love it. On a clean sound the amp is silent. Something I'm not used to and I thought something was wrong until I played it. With both controls on 5/10 the sound is a beautiful full blues tone, just perfect for my playing style."
