SE-5a driven by SD-1 pedal

I sometimes get asked about how well these amps (WF-55, SE-5a, PP-18) take pedals. The good news is that they are simple enough that they work really well with pedals that push the preamp into extra overdrive. Here's an example recorded and uploaded by a customer:

(Please get in touch so I can add a proper credit!)

Great set of clips here from Andy Slade. Starts with some clean and funky tones and then goes for that classic Angus-style overdrive.

Jan Ghesquiere's funky SE-5a clip

"No effects. Speaker is a Jensen Blackbird (alnico... sweet...). I called the amp "Tight Pony". It sounds really tight; hence. Fascinating, though, how I always end up playing something funky when testing an amp or guitar. And I don't even like 'white' funk! Except the Average White Band. Smile"

Steve Walwyn (Dr Feelgood, etc) has been using his SE-5a for many recordings. Here's an example from his latest album:

"I thought you might be interested to hear this track (title track) from the album; I'm playing a 1970s Burns Flyte guitar through the SE-5a combo (2x8-inch Celestion speakers)."
