Ready-to-use board material for creating point-to-point layouts. This is made from paper or fabric laminated and then impregnated with phenolic resin under pressure to create stiff insulating boards. This is the same process used in Paxolin and other boards that were used in many vintage amps.       Note that phenolic is a hard material, rather difficult to cut to size and wearing on your drill bits. You may prefer to use PTFE material which I've recently started using. It's a lot easier to work with.
The phenolic boards come in a range of medium red-brown to dark red-brown colours - similar to the colour of the boards used in the '60s. However, the boards darken with age, and I cannot guarantee the colour of the boards that arrive with me from the manufacturer. It's possible to accelerate the aging process by exposing the board to UV or sunlight.
Dimensions & info The board is 3mm thick, to work with the large turrets and scremount turrets. It is 10.125 x 2.625in (257 x 67mm), the same size as that used in the original Marshall 18W combos. Made in the UK.
