M-style knob - gold
Classic control knob for M-style amplifier projects
Marshall switched to this style of knob in the mid 1960s and hasn’t seen any need to change. And it’s a popular choice for independent builders making ‘British-voiced’ amplifiers. The knob fits to the pot’s shaft via a set-screw in a brass sleeve. this makes it a lot longer-lasting and reliable compared to those modern knobs where the set screw is threaded directly into the knob’s (softer) plastic.
Dimensions & info
It’s 18mm in diameter and 15mm tall (same as the original knobs on my ’60s and ’70s Marshalls). On the underside, there’s a recess to cover the pot’s mounting nut. It has a gold cap and black body. There’s also a version with a silver cap.
