Small toggle switch
Small toggle switch with DPDT/SPST or centre-off action
This is an ideal choice for channel switches, bright switches, etc on an amp’s front panel. I stock the most popular versions: SPST, DPDT and DPDT+centre-off. For other requirements – such as DPST for a mains power switch – I suggest using the DPDT type and ignoring the unwanted lugs.
These switches are small. The solder lugs and internal metal parts are also small. That means that they do not take kindly to overheating when soldering. Too much heat and the thermoplastic housing starts to melt. For this reason, I strongly suggest using thin solid-core wire to make connections. It heats quickly and there’s no risk of a ‘wire whisker’ shorting against another lug or the chassis. You can use stranded wire, but it’s more fiddly and requires more heat to be applied. And in the very small space you have available for these switches, that can be a problem.
Dimensions & info
This switch mounts via a 6.35mm (quarter inch) diameter panel hole. It comes with two hex nuts, and with a locking washer and anti-rotate ring.
