Matt’s AC4 project

“I found time this week to finish the amp and all is well. Since it’s mainly built with Amp maker parts (with the obvious exception of the chassis), I thought you might like to see the finished product: my ‘Oscillator to AC4’ project. The tremolo circuit was a bit of an afterthought, hence it’s unwieldy location. I expected it to buzz like the proverbial, but the shielded wires have worked wonders and it’s quiet as a mouse. Sounds pretty good too, although I might be biased.
“I’m a firm believer in breathing new life into old ‘junk’. There’s so much stuff out there which is beautifully designed and engineered but has no use in the modern world. I did think long and hard before settling on butchering the oscillator, as it was obviously hand wired with a degree of care you rarely encounter nowadays. In the end I decided it would be a better tribute to the original maker to re-purpose it than to leave it gathering dust in the corner of my workshop.”
