David Hockridge’s slant

“I thought you might be interested in a couple of photos of my SE-5A in its cabinet. I drew inspiration from some of the designs on your site and also some plans for 18W combos I found. The cabinet control panel slopes back at 30 degrees for ease of use and for reducing the cabinet size needed. There’s plenty of room to reach the valves.

“Construction is from Radiata pine (the most common solid timber available in Australia). The baffle, amp shelf and back cover are marine grade plywood. I chose a rust-coloured upholstery urethane rather than black. The semi-transparent speaker cloth is repeated above the control panel so you can see the glow of the EL84 through it.”
