Peter’s Double Six with floating valves!

“Some photos of my Double Six in a Fender cab. I did some breakthrough and crazy stuff: all the valves swing free on rubber suspended rafts to stop vibration/microphonics.

“This is a total cure, I first used old bicycle inner tube rubbers, but the rubber smelled “very slightly” after a 2 hour gig. Six months and no signs of physical problems with the rubber, but I changed for heatproof rubber, although the rafts don’t get too hot to handle. I can leave the fire extinguisher at home now – LOL.

“The wires that feed and return from the valves have to be multistrand, it’s more flexible and helps quite a bit. The rafts are earthed for any mishaps.”
